We believe it is never too late to discover and develop your creativity and talents and its never to late to become a writer. The Spirit of Writing programme offers a range of courses, workshops and professional mentoring aimed at helping you do just that. We will help you SOW new seeds of creativity and then work with you as we nurture them and watch them grow. We’ll help you realise your writing dreams and ambitions, be that to write something only you will read or develop a new career as a successful journalist, poet or novelist. |

Writing Stories
For anyone that wants to explore the basics of storytelling, create their own story week by week and learn the building blocks to write short stories and novels.
We will look at:
- what makes a good story and where stories come from
- the devices of storytelling
- how to structure a story
- making language work for you
- how to create strong living characters
- next steps...
Course Details
The course consists of 6 two-hour workshops, incorporating tution writing exercises, feedback and critique. Exercises, reading tasks and journaling will be advised for between classes to help you develop your work and develop the habits and skills necessary to become a writer.

Sarah Milne
Sarah has always had a passion for writing and, three years ago, decided to take the plunge and become a professional writer. Since then, Sarah has had many features published in a wide variety of magazines and newspapers.
More recently, Sarah has decided to concentrate mainly on her creative writing. Sarah regularly performs her poetry in Croydon and London and has had short stories published in magazines and collections. Her first novel ‘Something Precious Inside’ is currently being read and considered by agents.
Sarah has more than twenty years experience of teaching large and small groups and mentoring individuals. She lectured psychology at the University of Bath before becoming a full time writer and has since worked with writers of all standards, helping them develop their work, get published and build a career.
